Derek Jarman

A Journey to Avebury (1971)
Journey to Avebury beautifully reflects Derek Jarman’s fascination with ancient history, paganism, and Celtic traditions.
Derek Jarman is often said to be a painter rather than a movie director. Indeed, with his films he makes pictures that seem to be more important than the plot (which is usually unclear or missing at all). But those pieces of art he creates using camera are beautiful and astounding.
A JOURNEY TO AVEBURY, his 1971 silent short movie, is a literal journey that we can experience. We are being taken to Avebury and given the chance to admire it for 10 minutes. The shots are incredibly beautiful, as we see a huge stone or trees bathed in orange light of sunset.
The film lacks a plot and sound and should be treated as a collection of images rather than a movie. If you like Jarman’s art – you’ll be pleased with this one. If you like beauty – you’ll love it. But if you’re looking for action or amusement, better walk around it because these 10 minutes might just be too long for you.

Track is pulled from a mix someone gave me labeled DUBSTEP TO BREAKCORE. I made this primarily to demonstrate modul8 support for one of the Intrinsic FX FreeFrame plug-ins made by VJFX. The material is mostly loops that I use for my regular VJ sets.
The second of two experiments bringing motion to the drawings. Actually the initial drawing was created in illustrator and then brought into after effects and animated using the stroke filter. The final for use in modul8 the lines are are black and the clip is exported as an png with an alpha channel.
Made in late 2005, early 2006 in a little more then a month for Trevor Sias who was to have a CD released with some videos on it. With the exception of the music the story, drawings, and animation were created by the uploadee.

Teatrino Electtrico

The electric theater of these two Italians is an audiovisual performance, hypnotic and out of the ordinary. The sounds which will be utilized come from a heap of analog instruments and housedhold domestic tools. Normally used in obsessive rotational movements. While this is going round and round the visualsits will work live, with games of amplification, distortion, multiplication and enlargement.

Bruno Tait Reel
May 8th, 2009 Posted 8:43 am
Began in the year 2000 as a project at the interface between graphics and light in a club context, Bruno Tait has developed into a well established live video act, who through its unconventional visual experiments have become well known way past the boundaries of Cologne. From live filmed pictures and self produced “Vector worlds”, a unique picture choreography emerges from BRUNO TAIT with great attention to detail. BRUNO TAIT want to let sounds become visible, without painting over them. Whether as a visual story teller with a jazz band in Kazakhstan, as filmmakers for the WDR in Cologne, or as a visual time keeper for electronic music acts in the most unusual locations of Europe, Bruno Tait is at home wherever a combination of live music and video are in demand.
